Congratulations to Our 2024-2025 Scholarship Winner: Abigail Murray

TrophyCentral is proud to announce Abigail Murray as the recipient of our 2024-2025 Sportsmanship and Compassion Scholarship.

Abigail's story is one of extraordinary compassion that began long before she was old enough to apply for a scholarship. Since the age of eight, she has been a caregiver and has provided support to 1300+ families. While most children her age were focused on after-school activities, Abigail was learning to respond to seizures, navigate emergency care, and fight for her sister's inclusion in a world that doesn't always make room for it. She didn't do it because someone asked her to. She did it because it was simply who she was.

That same spirit led her to co-found Compassion Champions in December 2023 - a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and children experiencing housing insecurity across Queens and Long Island. What began with family, friends, and classmates quickly grew into something much larger. Through backpack drives, hygiene kit distributions, toy drives, and community partnerships, Compassion Champions has helped support hundreds of families. But as Abigail puts it, the mission has always been about more than supplies:

Abigail embodies exactly what this scholarship was created to celebrate - someone whose kindness isn't a moment or a gesture, but a way of living. We are honored to support her next chapter.
