Can I Add Plates to a Perpetual Plaque Later? How perpetual plaques work, how to order matching plates in future years, and what to plan for before your first order. Yes, absolutely. That is the whole point of a perpetual plaque. You can add new engraved plates year after year as you recognize new winners, without buying a new plaque each time. How It WorksPerpetual plaques are designed with multiple plate slots that you fill over time. When you first order your plaque, you will typically receive it with one engraved plate, or however many winners you have initially. As months or years pass and you have new recipients, you simply order additional plates to fill the empty slots. Most perpetual plaques accommodate 12, 24, or more plates depending on the size you choose. A 24-plate plaque used for an Employee of the Month program would last two full years before all slots are filled. Ordering Additional PlatesYou do not need to send your plaque back to us. We can ship you individual perpetual plaque plates with your custom engraving, and you can attach them to your existing plaque with a screwdriver. The plates either screw into place or attach magnetically, depending on your plaque style. When ordering replacement plates, match the following to your existing plaque:
What Happens When You Run Out of Space? When all your plate slots are filled you have a few options: start a second plaque to continue the tradition, remove the oldest plates to make room for new ones creating a rolling display, or retire the full plaque to a place of honor and start fresh. Many organizations display multiple perpetual plaques side by side to show their full history. If you are planning ahead, consider choosing a larger plaque initially such as a 36 or 48-plate version to give yourself several years before facing this decision. Expert TipTake a photo of your completed plaque before removing any old plates or starting a new one. This preserves your recognition history and gives past winners a record of their achievement even if their physical plate is eventually removed. Related QuestionsReady to order your perpetual plaque?
